Our Journey
From Korea to Seattle — united by food, driven by passion
Thirteen years ago, we moved from Korea to the United States with a shared dream: to explore a bigger world and continue our passion for food. My wife, who specialized in Food Processing and Quality Management, built her expertise at one of Korea’s leading kimchi manufacturers, where she ensured the highest standards of taste and safety. I trained in Korean royal cuisine, and together we first met while working at the same food company — and eventually, we married.
Our journey took us through Georgia and New York, where we gained invaluable experience in restaurants and hospitality, before settling in Seattle — a city of diversity, natural beauty, and opportunity. Along the way, we built and ran two restaurants: Tapas Lab, a Spanish-inspired small plates and wine concept, and Korn Dog, a fast-casual shop sharing Korean street food with the community.
Through these experiences, one thing became clear: it was nearly impossible to find kimchi that met the taste and quality we believed it deserved. That simple realization sparked our mission — to craft truly exceptional kimchi that you’ll be proud to share and gift, bringing families and friends together around the table.
